CISA
Join
the community involved in sustaining agriculture today! Here’s
how you can help CISA continue its important work:
Buy
locally grown!
Spend your food dollars locally – it makes a difference.
For a complete listing of local farms, farmers markets, restaurants
and retailers featuring locally grown food, click here.
Look for Local Hero signs when you shop and dine out. Let the
Manager of your grocery store or favorite dinner spot know you
prefer locally grown.
Get
involved and get vocal.
Become a CISA volunteer, join an agricultural
commission in your town, talk to your government officials
and tell them you care about the viability of farms and protecting
and preserving the quality of life in your community!
Volunteering
with CISA
Do you like to get your hands dirty? Donating your time and
skills is one important way to become a part of the community
involved in sustaining agriculture. Whether you have a lot of
time or a little, every gift of volunteer time is valuable and
makes a difference. CISA was started by a group of volunteers
and we still depend on community volunteers to help us accomplish
our mission! Just
a few of the many ways you can spend your volunteer time…
- Participate
on a volunteer team that helps raise important funds to support
CISA’s work;
- Join
the Program Committee and help and makes decisions about the
direction of CISA’s programming and community outreach
activities;
- Help
out at a farm or food event;
- Assist
us with computer work, phone calling, filing and other office
tasks; or
- Spread
the word about CISA and attract new supports by tabling at
your local farmers’ market or grocery store.
Let us know what interests you, and how you’d like to
get involved.
We look forward to hearing from you!
