Volunteer

Ready to play a larger role in supporting local agriculture? Donating your time and skills is a terrific way to become a part of the dedicated community working to strengthen the links between farms and people.

Whether you have a lot of time or a little, every gift of volunteer time is valuable and makes a difference. Here are some of our current volunteer needs:

  • Talk with the public as a Community Outreach Volunteer at upcoming food and farm-related activities this summer.  We'll be hosting a training session from 7-9pm on Thursday, August 19 at our office. Send a message to volunteer@buylocalfood.org if you plan to attend
  • Serve as greeters, food servers, or help out with event set up or other logsitical tasks (picking up food from farms) for upcoming event(s).
  • Help out with Taste the View! Want to have fun, meet neighbors and community members with shared interests and values, exercise your creativity, eat AND help CISA raise much-needed funds for its programs? CISA is looking for volunteers to help with the set-up, production, and clean-up of Taste the View, our annual fundraising gala on September 24. We need your help to transform the main arena at the Three County Fairgrounds into a wonderful showcase of local farms and the foods they produce. Volunteers are needed help set up tables, assemble decorations, run electrical cords, etc. Assistance also needed to help with post-event deconstruction on September 25. We also need servers, help getting materials from farms, and some help with food prep(commercial kitchen experience helpful but not required). Let Ann know that you want to help with Taste the View this fall.

It really is about community...

CISA was started by a group of volunteers and we still depend on community volunteers to help us accomplish our mission. So tell us what interests you, and how you'd like to get involved, by returning our Volunteer Application to Ann Pemberton, our Volunteer Coordinator.  We look forward to working with you!
