Many local farms offer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares during the growing season.  Below is a list of farms in the Valley that have shares available for the 2010 season.

Valley Green Feast delivers local and organic produce boxes to residences around the Pioneer Valley each week. 13 Moon Harvest, Montague
We hand grow and hand pick a wide variety of vegetables (including heirloom tomatoes!) according to the lunar year. We incorporate modern bio-dynamic as well as ancient meso-american farming techniques to ensure that through rain or drought or anything in-between we are ensured an abundant harvest. Price per full share is $600.00.

Bloody Brook Farm, South Deerfield 
We are family owned and operated farm since 1950. We grow our fruits and vegetables chemical and pesticide free and our beef cattle are grass fed. Our 20 week CSA runs from June 17-October 28. A full share is $600 for the season, which includes fruit. We offer two pick-up locations in South Deerfield and Northfield.

Common Wealth CSA, Greenfield
We are a cooperative of farmers, currently in our 13th season, providing fruits and vegetables from Shoestring Farm in Colrain and Red Fire Farm in Granby (and soon in Montague also), and blueberries from The Benson Place in Heath.  Pick-up is next to Green Fields Market on Wed. afternoons.  For more information contact Suzanne or phone Suzanne at 413-774-2112, or see our website.

Enterprise Farm, Whately
The Enterprise Farm CSA share includes our own organic fruits and vegetables, as well as choice local fruits and organic vegetables from our partner farms around the neighborhood to supplement the share throughout the season. Share pick-up includes a farm store with local meats, cheeses and other goodies as well as PYO flowers, herbs, tomatoes, and more. A kids' garden with a sand box and shade makes Enterprise Farm Share a great option for families.

Isle of View, Wendell
Join the most unique and healthy CSA in the valley! We offer seasonal, local produce that is grown in an ecologically respectful manner. According to the season, we offer strawberries, blueberries (wild and cultivated), blackberries, raspberries, peas, string beans, salad greens, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, greenhouse grown figs, Shitake mushrooms (fresh and dried), basil, mint, bok choy, kale, radish, squash, cabbage, watercress, garlic, onion as well as fresh live sprouts, wheatgrass, comfrey salve and much more!

The Kitchen Garden, Sunderland
The Kitchen Garden offers a unique farm share for food lovers, creating a community of passionate cooks. Boxed shares include 22 weeks of naturally-grown vegetables, or upgrade to the deluxe share to add seasonal fruit from local farms. Pick-up in Northampton, Amherst, Greenfield, Springfield and at the farm in Sunderland or opt for home-delivery. Natural Roots, Conway- SOLD OUT for 2010
We are a horse-powered family farm offering you a deeply nourishing experience. We grow a wide variety of delicious produce using ecologically-respectful methods. Our CSA families come weekly to our farm to fill their tote bag with their choice of the day's harvest and enjoy the land, the river, and the gathering of community. The share also includes U-Pick crops and the opportunity to buy many other local goods at our farm shop.

Riverland Farm, Sunderland- SOLD out for 2010
Full and half share memberships for a 23 week season from the first week of June through the first week in November. Shares are distributed at our farm in Sunderland. Pick up hours are Tuesday 2-7pm, Thursday 2-7pm, and Saturday 10-2pm. Our farm is certified organic and all the vegetables in your share are grown in our fields. Membership also includes access to our U-Pick crops like sweet peas, juicy strawberries, fragrant herbs and beautiful flowers. As an added convenience, we also offer bread, eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, honey and many other locally produced items available for members to purchase on share days. Once you become a member of Riverland Farm it becomes your farm, a place where you have a voice regarding how your food is grown. Sangha Farm, Ashfield
We offer a 20 week CSA in small, medium, or large shares. Three pick-up locations include: Wednesdays at the Florence Farmers Market or at the Farm in Ashfield, and Saturdays at the Ashfield Farmers Market. Hampshire County:

Crabapple Farm, Chesterfield
Our CSA is a free choice distribution - shareholders fill canvas tote bags with their choice of what we have available each week, so you can take home only the things you like. We offer three bag size options to meet the needs of different household sizes. Part time shares available, 10 or 15 weeks, for those who don't want to commit to every week all season long. Shares include Pick Your Own berries, flowers, herbs, peas, beans, and cherry tomatoes. On farm pickup, Mondays or Fridays 2-6:30pm. Season runs June through mid-November.

Pricing:  Part Time Shares: 10 week small $190, medium $240; 15 weeks small $280, medium $350. Full Season Shares are on a sliding price scale; target prices: Small $380, Medium $490, Large $625.

Intervale Farm,  Westhampton 
20 week share starting in June with pick up at the farm on Mondays and Thursdays.  Cost is $425. Our share offers a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and a bouquet of flowers each week. We sell farm eggs, Mapleline milk and Hillman Farm goat cheese each week along with our local blueberries and orchard fruit in season. We do not offer a PYO option or half shares. Mountain View Farm, Easthampton

Next Barn Over, Hadley
Seasonal farm shares include heirloom tomatoes, garlic, salad greens, strawberries, and a full range of fresh, delicious, naturally-grown, vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs. CSA shares are available for pick-up at the farm Monday and Wednesday from 2-7 pm and Friday from 12-4 pm, June-November. Other local products including cheese, honey, yogurt, bread, eggs, fruit, meat, and milk will also be available for purchase on CSA pick-up days.

Red Fire Farm, Granby
Delicious heirloom tomatoes, crisp salad greens, tender tasty carrots, hearty golden potatoes... these are just a few of the many exciting vegetables that you will find in shares from Red Fire Farm.  Please join us for a season of certified organic local food!  We offer vegetable shares, flower shares, egg shares and fruit shares, with season options from June through December, and a new Deep Winter Locavore CSA extending from January through March.  Home Delivery is available for some locations. Simple Gifts Farm, North Amherst
We offer certified organic heirloom tomatoes, salad and cooking greens, winter and summer squash, sweet peppers, broccoli, potatoes, and much more in our share. Our share is free choice - we give you a canvas bag (comes with the share!) that you get to fill up every week from June through October with whatever you want!

The share, at $450, is about the size of a plastic grocery bag, and the large share, $650, is about the size of a large paper grocery bag. Pickup is Tuesday and Thursday 3:30-7:30pm at the farm on North Pleasant Street, less than a mile from UMASS. PYO strawberries, cherry tomatoes, herbs, flowers, hot peppers, okra, and beans are included in the share price. We also offer local products for sale to members, including our own grassfed and pasture-raised beef, lamb and pork, and our organic pasture-raised eggs.

Small Ones Farm, Amherst 
Small Ones Farm's fruit CSA offers local families access to naturally grown apples, peaches, pears, plums and berries. We use earth- and people-friendly growing practices as members of the Certified Naturally Grown program (i.e., we grow without the use of synthetic chemicals). 

Our 11-week CSA runs from the end of August through October. Each week, members take home 4-7 pounds of tree fruit.  Membership also includes blueberries, raspberries, one delicious apple pie, 10 pounds of U-pick apples, a weekly newsletter during the harvest season, and a $5.00 coupon to the farm shop, which features local farm and artisan products. Cost:  $165/share.

Swartz Family Farm, Amherst     
Shares will contain a variety of our own produce - lettuce, kale, arugula, swiss chard, bok choi, watercress, and kitchen herbs, as well as a wide selection of other locally produced vegetables, fruits, berries, and field crops such as corn, squash, and tomatoes. Shares are distributed every Friday from May 7-October 1. We also offer add-on items from other local farms and producers throughout the season. These will include a selection of breads, meats, cheeses, honey, teas, and prepared items, and may be ordered through the website and picked up when you collect your share on Fridays. A share is $600 for the season.

Town Farm, Northampton- SOLD OUT for 2010
Town Farm CSA offers 120 shares and runs 22 weeks from early June through the end of October. We offer regular shares (about 1/2 bushel of produce per week for $475) and large shares (about 3/4 bushel of produce per week for $625). Shares are picked up at the farm on Wednesdays and Fridays between 2 and 6:30pm. Shareholders receive a sized bag at the beginning of the season and fill their bag from the selection of produce. Pick your own flowers, sunflowers, peas, beans, and herbs are included in the share price. We are a 1/2 mile from downtown Northampton. Fun, kid-friendly, family farm.
