Job Opportunity:
King Creek Farm in Ware, MA is looking for a lead veggie grower and assistant growers. Besides operating its busy farmstand on Rt. 9, King Creek attends two farmers' markets this season.

Lead grower position: applicants should have several years of veggie growing experience with emphasis on organic and all-natural production methods.  Ideal candidates should have the confidence to turn seed into saleable produce and get it on the stand for sale. All phases of production including planning, seeding, transplanting, tractor work, equipment set-up, mulching, irrigating, fertilizing, spraying, harvesting and washing are required. Those with market experience will be given preference. We are looking for someone who works well with others, is a leader, can take and give direction and is organized.  We also graze cattle and are involved in all facets of livestock production.  Please have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Applicants should have a burning desire to farm. Compensation is $10-12/ hr depending on experience.

Assistant veggie growers:  applicants should have experience with veggie production and some tractor experience preferred. Livestock experience helpful but not required. Must be able to work long, hard days and lift up to 50 pounds. Applicants need to be motivated and able to work well with others.   Please have a valid driver’s license and a burning desire to farm.  Compensation is $8-10/hr depending on experience.
