Position title: Membership and Development Assistant/Associate
Reports to: Director of Development
Position
Overview: Full-time position responsible for managing membership
recruitment for the Local Hero Program and business/corporate
sponsors, and for supporting development functions including
annual giving and development events.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Membership
and sponsorship:
1.
Prepares annual Local Hero (LH) membership plan to include acquisition
of new members and upgrade and expansion of business and corporate
member and membership base. Projects targets for member retention
and develops strategies to increase membership revenue.
2. Develops and maintains LH membership and sponsor database
and files.
3. Assists in establishing quarterly benchmarks for face-to-face
contacts with members and prospects; creates and presents monthly
LH membership and sponsorship reports.
4. Works with Communication Manager to create print materials
and marketing plan related to the Local Hero program and business
sponsors.
5. Works with Technical Services Manager to fulfill membership
benefits and services; analyzes needs of LH members and sponsors
and works with Program staff to create services and member benefits
that will add value to the membership.
6. Works with Program Staff to plan and implement LH member-related
events.
7. Contacts all delinquent LH members personally.
8. Maintains copies of all contracts, invoices, receipts, etc.
for items relating to the LH membership and sponsors.
9. Ensures a high degree of CISA’s visibility within the
community and among LH members; arranges for tabling at events
and/or coordinates volunteers to participate.
10. With Director of Development, determines guidelines and
policies between LH membership recruitment, event solicitations,
and major gift solicitations and work with DOD to establish
staff leads for solicitations and business contacts.
Development
support:
1. Attends Development Committee meetings as required and assists
with Committee communications and meeting minutes.
2. With Director of Development, executes annual fund appeals,
including managing mailing lists and mailing process and coordinating
production of print materials.
3. Assist with event planning, including preparation of invitation
lists, tracking event responses, and interfacing with vendors
as needed.
4. Assists with meeting and appointment scheduling, donor and
prospect correspondence, document creation, research, and other
administrative tasks as assigned.
Desired
skills and qualifications:
This
is a hands-on position, providing exposure to a wide range of
development functions. We seek a motivated self-starter with
a commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers
and the farming community. Minimum of 2 years development or
membership/sales experience. Undergraduate degree in environmental
sciences or related field a plus. Must be computer and database
proficient, and be available for occasional evening meeting
and weekend events as necessary.
Salary
range: $34,000-$38,000 and benefits
