CISA offers non-profit organizations, farming groups, state departments of agriculture and others the benefit of our 12 years of work creating public support for agriculture.

CISA offers the following consultation products and services:

Harvesting Support for Locally Grown Food. CISA’s Local Hero campaign is thoroughly explained and detailed in this 125+ page manual. Written in an approachable style, the manual contains essential information and hard lessons learned that are of value to any organization considering starting a ‘buy local’ campaign. The manual is available for only $35 and can be found in our store.

Consultation in your region. CISA can send experienced, informative staff to your organization to advise you on any aspect of creating and implementing a buy local campaign, from your first local farm guide to working with the local media, recruiting farm members, holding public events and festivals and more.

CISA is currently working with a coalition of Connecticut farming and food organizations to create a feasibility study for a statewide buy local campaign, funded by the USDA Rural Development Agency and Farm Credit's AgEnhancement Program.

Visits to CISA’s office and a field trip to Local Hero businesses. Come to the beautiful Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts to visit Local Hero farms, retailers and restaurants. CISA staff will guide you on a tour and spend time with you answering your questions about how to start a buy local campaign.
